No less than five instantaneous things happen when you get saved. First Conversion, being repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21) Romans 10 indicates what initiates conversion, but conversion is accomplished by God, not by flesh. Second you're Justified, being a declared justification. Perfect Job, from the land of Uz, wanted his words and actions justified, or proven right. James, servant of God, wants ones profession of faith to be justified, or proven real. But the Justification at salvation is not a proving of right, it is a declaring to be righteous. We are already proven deplorable. Now we are declared just-as-if-I'd-never-sinned. It is declared Justification, which is not of works. One is also Quickened in salvation. An old English word not used by Protestants or Evangelicals who think it synonymous with regeneration. It is not. One goes from eternal-death to eternal-life, you're quickened when you're saved. It is a good Bible word. Jesus loved using it and the Psalmist put it in verse thirteen times. Once quickened, the only way one could loose salvation is if God reached into the soul and killed what he just quickened. He won't. We are saved eternally. In an instant at the moment of salvation one is 1) Converted, 2) Justified, 3) Quickened, 4) Indwelt, and 5) Wholly Immersed into Christ. If you always believed but were never converted, you're lost. If you never had a head on collision with God, you cannot get saved a little at a time. If you don't know that you are saved, “He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life.... These things have I written unto you … that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” Got Life?

Christianity as a whole has very poorly heeded the stern warnings of Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and the brother of James. Despite his warnings Roman paganism crept in unawares. Their penance, priests, and purgatories warred against the faith which was once delivered. America thinks salvation is in beads and baptisms and the world considers the pope not Roman Catholic, but Christian! Protestants fared no better in contending for the faith. Most contend that souls are pre-elect for salvation, or eternally chosen for hell; the rest think salvation is only for those who endure to the end. Both Tom Fooleries are yet creeping in unawares. Evangelicalism flounders around in the wake of this error, and further turns the grace of our God into book selling lasciviousness. An eight volume communique from Dallas Theological Seminary has 400 pages on the doctrine of salvation, but not a chapter on conversion, not a section on justification, not a paragraph on indwelling, and not a word on quickening! Inconceivable. They never mention being wholly immersed (baptized) into Christ, that's conceivable, they are catering to 70+ evangelical denominations! These five ingredients, however, dictate exactly what happens in So-Great-Salvation. All are immediate when one is Born-Again, and none are in the Evangelical's theology books. It is obvious that Christianity has been infiltrated, and So-Great-Salvation compromised. Jude contends that you should contend. Independent fundamental Baptists need to reevaluate just what they are contending for. Certain men have crept in unawares. But salvation is indeed ones Conversion-Justification-Quickening-Indwelling-Baptism into Christ. They all happen in a moment and once they happen (to whosoever believeth) they cannot be undone. “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” (1John5:12)

The Epistle to the Hebrews which so keenly addresses “So-Great-Salvation” and the Priest who secures it for us, stalls momentarily in chapter five. The concern is that readers might not be grounded in the seven first principles of the oracles of God. Three of them listed in chapter six have to do with securing So-Great-Salvation, two are doctrines about “whats-next” after So-Great-Salvation, and two are doctrines of what happens when one misses So-Great-Salvation. They make an awesome outline. Consider here the three necessary ingredients for So-Great-Salvation. “The principles of the doctrine of Christ” is first up. Christ, (Hebrew - Messiah, English – Anointed-One) is God. Jesus is Christ. The child born “unto us” shall be called “the mighty God, the everlasting Father.” If one does not understand the trinity they are not alone, but if one does not believe in the trinity they cannot believe the principles of the doctrine of Christ and “Whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, … he that believeth not is condemned already... He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John3) The second principle is “the foundation of repentance from dead works” and close behind is the third “the foundation of faith toward God.” Jesus said “Except ye be converted... ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt 18) Conversion is both repentance and faith detailed in Acts20:21 as “repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Dead works is spelled penance, and the Latin Vulgate Bible replaced every occurrence of repentance with penance. Consequently the religion of Christendom is primarily trusting in dead works. The message preached here is, trust Christ, repent or perish.

When studying everything the Bible says about salvation one discovers very few references to the salvation of ones soul. Most references deal with the salvation of Israel, which is not surprising “For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.” (Deut32:9) Indeed Israel utilized so many salvation references because they lived more like Jacob than like their new name, Israel. “They lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation, they provoked him to jealousy with their strange gods.” (Deut32:15b-16a) Salvation in battle and/or salvation from an enemy is also a major theme of our Bible, and that is the quintessential theme of David and his Psalms when addressing salvation, being saved, and having a Saviour. Indeed Hannah rejoiced in child birth as God's salvation, (1Sam2:1) Job in upcoming deliverance from his three friends (Job13:16), and Jeremiah cried for his salvation and removal from pit and prison. (Jer18:20) There is, just the same, no salvation as stupendous and central as the salvation of the soul. Indeed, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.” (Heb2:3) It is overwhelmingly miraculous that the individual soul could be Justified before God, and more so that a Gentile soul could be converted to God, born again, and added to his kingdom. It is, however, wrong that your Pastor's Soteriology book has not one paragraph on the salvation of Israel or salvation from our enemies. Consequentially the majority of Christendom only comprehends an iota of the pending salvation of Israel, and has little depth when God daily delivers us from enemy and circumstance. So Great Salvation is so much greater than many ever consider. Selah.; in English “go figure.”

Penny Pulpit Essay Prelude What's Significant?
Starting off a new year requires opening a new 2014 book of Penny Pulpit Essays. Though not in 3rd person, not a Penny Pulpit per se, and exceeding the 300 words required by the “Call to Glory” devotional I write for, I wanted this essay to be my first entry.
After mom died and before dad died we would drive three hours to visit him. He would drone on and on about how he had bolted down a replacement motor on his homemade rock polisher and the old quarter inch bolts were to large so he used some three eighths ones he found on that old washer motor he had kept. This motor had a three pulley adjustable drive, but he couldn't find the right v-belt until he remembered that junk motor in the back of the chicken coop, and sure enough that old belt fit perfectly, so he took a short piece of coat hanger and… There were significant things going on at work. The advanced A/D converter contract bids were all in, and we were to visit the leading contractors at MIT, the Mayo Clinic, and Lockheed Martin next week. There were significant things going on at home, Mike was visiting Army recruiters, Shane was talking about college, and Matthew was struggling in school. There were significant things going on at Church, the teens were taking that trip Friday, the Church Bus was broke, and I needed two new Jr. Church workers by Sunday. The least significant thing in my life right now was what size v-belt might drive a three pulley geared down electric motor. Dad droned on. I didn't pretend to care. We would spend the night and head back home tomorrow; I had a very busy week coming up. Last month I plugged in dad's rock polisher. The belt is a little loose but has held up well for twenty years. Sometimes the most significant thing in ones life is totally insignificant to me. It is because they are not really, in actuality, my loved one. Going through a day insignificant to everyone around you is the embodiment of loneliness. True, we are significant to God, but I'll guarantee there is someone you know who is longing to capture some of your significance today, no matter how busy you might be with your own importance. Anyway, I am writing to tell you that the tree branch that smashed the lawn tractor hood made a crease that funneled all the rain right into the carburetor. So I took a rag and strapped an incandescent light bulb to the carburetor bowl, (You know those bulbs are illegal this year, idiot tree hugging government bureaucrats!) so, after setting all day the whole block of ice was melted out of the carb and I could get a short tube down in there to get all the …..

When I was a lad the mayor of Corning was ushering a visiting dignitary into town. Who seeing a sign which read “Christ is the Answer”, above the city, asked “So what is the question?” The agnostic mayor stammered, then stuttered, then started a campaign to get that sign down. Fifty years later, the sign is there. God's written record through his prophet Isaiah brings that answer to four leading questions. Chapter seven starts with an account involving the good, the bad, and the ugly. In the days of Ahaz the good king of Judah, Rezin the bad king of Syria, is confederate with Pekah the ugly king of Israel. The latter is so ugly that God and Isaiah never refer to this son of Remaliah by name again. This confederacy against good unites the enemy of God with a nation called Israel. Now Israel the ugly was the union of ten sons of Jacob, who 1,000 year previous had a name change. Judah the good, slanderously called “Jew”, was the outcast favored of God dwelling in the favored city of God, Jerusalem. Now these are all sure enough real characters in a real scenario, as it were, chosen brother against brothers who leagued with the world and enemy of God. The answer to this ugly mess is Christ, and he shows up in verse 14, “Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” God does not just tell what happened in history; in His-Story he tells us what happens. Sure enough, the ugly neo-evangelical is confederate with the progressive-liberal world, in an effort to stamp out and replace the Bible believing remnant who dwell in their 1611 King James Holy Bible. Christ is still the answer, and he is coming soon.

When a retired systems engineer picks up another eight volumes of systematic
theology expect some profound critiques. Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer steps back
from all previous theologians and profoundly presents a view he labels “The
Church, the Body of Christ.” When one accepts the dispensational truth of
Scripture, and then rightly divides the Word of Truth, the Church, being the
body of Christ, occupies a central role of this dispensation, but not all
dispensations. When the Covenant Theology of John Calvin and Roman
Catholicism exalts the Catholic Church to occupy the central theme of all
ages and all time, insisting that it swallow and replace Israel, as God's
chosen and elect, insisting that it swallow and replace all the promises
made to Israel, to Jerusalem, to Zion, to their regathering, to the literal
throne of David, and to their 12 tribes and 144 thousand witnesses, it
places an unpardonable strain on not only Biblical prophecy, but on the
whole Bible, from Genesis to maps, and especially on the Revelation of Jesus
Christ. Now, they say, only a few spiritually enlightened 'clergy' can see
and interpret this allegorical, hidden and secret meaning of Scripture. That
such nonsense, springing from Roman Catholic Church Fathers, Saint Clement
of Alexandria, and Saint Origin of Alexandria, made it intact through the
Protestant Reformation, and got grounded into John Calvin's Institutes, is
downright diabolical. Chafer steps away from this bias to write a
dispensational systematic theology that presents what the Bible actually
intimidates about the Church, the Body of Christ. It is unfortunate that
Baptists, and even Baptist Preachers do not spend significant time studying
theology, the greatest of the sciences. Only a little such study would keep
Baptists well distanced from the Calvinistic TULIPS and their Reformed
Theology that never really got reformed.

All modernists ecumenical Bibles completely leave out 20 verses that have always been in the Holy Bible. They say that Matt17:21 is not supposed to be in the Bible. They take their pen knife and cut it out! Then they take their knife and cut out Matt18:11, 23:14, Mark7:16, 9:44 & 46, 11:26, 15:28, Luke17:36, 23:17, John5:4, Acts8:37, 15:34, 24:7, 28:29, Rom16:24, and 1John5:7, then they take Col 1:14 and cut out the clause "Through His Blood" because they think God did not mean to say that. For over nineteen hundred years believers have considered these 20 verses to be inspired, inerrant, infallible Scripture. But now, modernist ecumenical scholars contend that no Bible in existence today is inspired. They contend that only the original manuscripts were inspired, i.e. only what came from the apostle's pen! All these original manuscripts are lost and, consequently, they say, there is no inspired Word of God in existence. They think, however, that their excellent 'textual-criticism' will be able to restore the originals from the two oldest existing manuscripts from Alexandria Egypt. Both manuscripts came from the pen of Roman Catholic Church Fathers, Clement of Alexandria and Origin of Alexandria. Catholic Saint Origin is considered the Father of Textual Criticism and the Father of the Allegorical Method, whereby Scripture “conceals a secret hidden meaning that only the supremely spiritually astute can see and comprehend.” Baptists never have trusted Catholics, especially their textual criticism. Look what they did to the Word's of God in Psalm 12:6 “The words of the LORD are pure words.” They pervert this verse to say “The promises of the LORD are promises that are pure”(RSV). Baptists will never agree with such folly. We use the ONLY complete English Bible with all these verses still intact, the Authorized King James Bible.
