Labor For Him

Brother Neff’s Collections – April 9, 2015

November 7, 2026

2 Corinthians 5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

Yesterday we were in a missions conference in Arkansas. The theme of the conference was— LABORING TO PLEASE HIM.

It was evident to see that the pastor and the people had labored much to prepare for the conference. The building was immaculate and well decorated, gift baskets were given to each missionary, a mission’s booklet had been prepared and given to all that attended and a fine meal had been prepared for the missionaries. The building was packed and the altars were full when the invitation was given for ones to commit to laboring for the Lord.

Here are two of the mission posters that were on the front wall:

In the vast plains to the North
I have sometimes seen in the morning sun

The smoke of a thousand villages
Where no missionary has ever been.

Robert Moffat

The Great Commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed. Hudson Taylor

Reflection—May this serve as a reminder that we are to labor for Him every day; that we may be accepted of Him.
