Genesis 46 – Jacob Goes to Egypt

God speaks to Jacob in visions at Beersheba, reassuring him not to fear going to Egypt, for God will make him a great nation there.

Jacob and his family, seventy souls in all, travel to Egypt.

Joseph and Jacob reunite with a moving embrace after many years apart.

Joseph prepares to present his family to Pharaoh.
Genesis 47 – Jacob in Egypt

Pharaoh welcomes Jacob’s family and gives them land in Goshen.

Jacob blesses Pharaoh when introduced.

The famine continues, and Joseph wisely manages resources, buying land for Pharaoh and providing seed to the people.

Jacob lives in Egypt for 17 years, and before he dies, he makes Joseph swear to bury him in Canaan, not Egypt.
