We Have a Part
By Ted Mock

Acts 8:21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
When Simon, the sorcerer, thought that he could buy the power of God with money, Peter told him that he had no part or lot in the Gospel ministry. His heart was not right with God. Contrast Simon with what the Lord told the Levites in Deuteronomy 10:9 that their part in Israel was not the land, but the Lord.
How wonderful to have a part in the Lord and His work!
Jo and I just returned from preaching at our home church in Bearden, Arkansas. We had a part in starting Fellowship Baptist Church. It is our sending church for the ministry. They had 76 in attendance Sunday in a town of 800. Hundreds of souls have been saved over the years, and several Bible college graduates have interned there with Pastor Stevicks before being sent out to other ministries. They support several missionaries and helped plant other churches in the states. We are thankful and grateful to God that we have been a part of Fellowship Baptist Church.
For the last 23 years, the Lord has allowed us to work representing the Lighthouse Children’s Homes. During that time, we have preached and held meetings in hundreds of churches and visited and helped on 5 foreign mission fields.
We have never founded any ministry—only helped. I hold no advanced degrees and have not pastored a church or wrote a book. I have come to understand what a wonderful thing it is to have a part in the Gospel ministry.
Every believer can have a part. Every believer needs a part. God has a part for every believer. Look up the legacy of Edward Kimble and Daisy Hawes, Sunday School teachers that had a part in the ministry.
Reflection—One person doing his part can make a difference. What part has God given you?
