Upon her retirement, Vivian Buttrey hails Seminary Extension as a great service to those who don’t have the opportunity to attend traditional Southern Baptist Convention seminaries, including bivocational pastors, laypeople and English as a Second Language students. “I appreciate most of all the people I worked with and the people I deal with,” Buttrey said. Under the direction of the six SBC seminary presidents, Seminary Extension last year enrolled more than 1,500 students in the U.S. alone.
