Seeing The Beauty of God’s Creation

Psalm 19:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
As I drove across this amazing country, I was reminded of just how wonderful our God truly is. From the towering mountains to the open plains, from the winding rivers to the colorful sunsets—everywhere I looked, I saw evidence of God’s handiwork.
Sometimes we get so caught up in the busyness of life that we forget to stop and appreciate what God has put right in front of us. But there is something special about traveling down the highway, looking out across the landscape, and realizing that the same God Who created the mountains, oceans, forests, and skies is the God Who knows me personally and cares about every detail of my life.
God’s creation should remind us of His power, His wisdom, and His greatness. Every sunrise should remind us of His faithfulness. Every mountain should remind us of His sovereignty. Every landscape should remind us that we serve a God whose imagination and power are beyond our understanding.
Psalm 104:24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
Driving across the country gave me an opportunity to see God’s riches firsthand. It reminded me that the world is much bigger than my daily worries, responsibilities, and problems. The God Who holds this universe together is still in control of my life.
The next time you travel, don’t just watch the miles go by. Take a moment to put down the phone and just look around. Thank God for the scenery He has created, for the life He has given you, and for the privilege of experiencing His amazing world.
The beauty of creation points us to the greatness of the Creator.
Reflection—As we travel through this world, may we never become so distracted by the journey that we forget to worship the One Who made it all.
