Victory Over Lust of the Eyes.

Msg#2544 A Satanic Stronghold – Pornography

What The Bible Says Good Samaritan’s Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

There are five powerful vices, wine, women, weed, drugs and gambling (wwwdg). A vice-grip is a stronghold and these five addictions make for Satanic strongholds on lives, even “Christians” get in their grip; but Christ can set one free (John 8). Society advances all five of these Satanic vices but one, through pornography, has established a Satanic stronghold even in lives of professing Christians; it’s epidemic. Pornography will quench one’s “walk in the Spirit” (Gal.5:16), it’s foreign to righteousness and called “fornication”, “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders” (Mrk.7:21,Eph.5:3,1Thes.4:3-5), it’s the “lust of the eye” condemned by Christ (Matt.5:28), the “evil imagination of the thoughts of the heart” (Gen.6:5,8:21), that men do “in the dark, in the chambers of his imagery, saying the Lord seeth not” (Ezek.8:12). For a Christian viewing pornography, the “seeing and hearing” will “vex his righteous soul”, as it did to Lot (2Pet.2:8). Solomon’s obsession with women says of it “the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing” (Eccl.1:8). Those given over to vile affections and reprobate minds exploit sexual sins to produce pornography, depraved consumers “have pleasure in them that do them” (Rom.1:26,28,32). It is vile, it is fornication. If viewing pornography is the stronghold of Satan parked in a secluded corner of your heart, confess it, repent, make a covenant with your eyes (Job.31:1), and pull down that stronghold of Satan with instruction of 2Corinthians 10:4-6 and Philippians 4:8. Get a “mind renewal” or you’ll be “conformed to this world” (Rom.12:2).

War against smut in your life, on your phone or laptop, and in the dark resources of your heart. Be accountable with devices. Pornography, neither be partaker of other men’s sins; employ sanctification NOT fornication, “Keep thyself pure” (1Tim.5:22, 1Thes.4:3-5). An Essay for week #44, Nov 2, 25

1Thes.4:3-5 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence (lust-irregular desire for sexual pleasure), even as the Gentiles which know not God.

John.8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.

Rom.1:26,28,32 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: … And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; … Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Matt.5:27-28 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Eccl.1:8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.

2Cor.10:3-6 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Phil.4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Gal.5:16 … Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Job 31:1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

Pulling Down Satan’s Strongholds 2Cor.10:4-6

Put this on a 3×5 card, and read it daily for 30 days to memorize it’s verses,

Five Elements of a Victorious Walk

  1. Genuine Repentance (Psalm 51:2-4). See sin as an affront to a holy God not just a remorse over the consequences. “Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight.”
  2. Taking back ground (Eph 4:22-23,27). Ground is given by sinful acts. This gives Satan legal jurisdiction in our lives. “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;… Neither give place to the devil.”
  3. Tearing down strongholds (2Cor 10:3-6). These are false belief systems that provide the enemy an area to bring in destructive attacks. “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”
  4. Build towers of Truth (Joh 8:32). These towers are a belief system based on the truth of God’s Word: “And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”
  5. Taking every thought captive (Phil 4:8). This is God’s standard for right thinking. If you do not take your thoughts captive, they will captivate you. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
