Msg #2625-kids “Our Father”

What The Bible Says on a 5th Grade Reading Level

I attempted to write our Penny Pulpit (Readability Grade 13, 5 of 11 sentences are very hard to read (#3, 5, 9, 10, 11). 3 of 11 sentences are hard to read (#4, 7, 8).) on a Hemmingwayapp 5th grade reading level for a Call to Glory Children Edition devotional, and came up with this:

Jesus said “When ye pray, say, Our Father, which art in heaven” (Luk11:2). It is a most amazing thing, that we get to call the God who created the universe, “Our Father.” When we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are adopted into God’s Family, and he becomes “Our Father.” When Jesus prayed he called God “My Father.” Now, when we talk to God, Jesus’ Father, he tells us that he is standing with us, and coming with us to his Father. So we should call him “OUR Father.” In the Bible Jesus tells us how much our Father loves us and that he will never leave us or forsakes us. He understands us and will meet all our needs. The Psalmist says, “He is my strength”, and “He is my dwelling place”. So we can always hang with God and rely on our Father’s strength. The Apostle Paul says we can even call him “Aba Father”, kind of like saying his is my Daddy. Jesus is righteous, always right and never wrong, and he stands with us when we pray to his Father. So when we pray, he tells us to call him “Our Father.” Awesome.
