Has anyone ever said to you; “Did you hear what I said?” Have you ever been talking to someone and wonder if they heard what you were saying? We want others to hear us if we are talking to them, don’t we? Sure we do or we wouldn’t waste our time talking to them. We don’t mind voicing our opinion, telling of something that displeases us in other words we don’t mind complaining. When you and I pray we want the Lord to hear our prayers, don’t we? Sure we do!
Psalms 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. You know what? Although we want God to hear our prayers and we want God to see our good deed; have we ever stopped to think that God may hear our complaining and see our evil works? Probably not! I’m afraid that God hears more than we want Him too.
Exodus 2:24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
Exodus 6:5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
Oh no I don’t think they wanted God to hear all that; do you? Like you and I we want God to hear our prayers when we pray but we sure don’t want Him to hear our complaining, backstabbing, gossiping, running others down; you know the things we do that we really don’t want God to hear. You know what? He does! Now that will give us something to think about this week whenwe start to speak.
Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD arein every place, beholding the evil and the good.
