Nolan Is Rejoicing

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Just last week, Nolan, my ten-year-old cousin, passed away with cancer. After a fierce 18-month battle, Nolan completed his course that God had given him. Nolan was a sweet young man who loved the Lord and was saved at the age of five. Nolan believed that God wanted him to be a preacher and was a faithful witness to kids at his school.

Nolan’s favorite verse was Philippians 4:4, and he recently preached a sermon on this passage. In his sermon, he spoke of how we are to always rejoice in the Lord because Christ died for our sins.

The hope of Heaven is something we as children of the Lord have because of the victory of Christ. Romans 12:12 says “Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”

Nolan is safe in the arms of Jesus, rejoicing in heaven. His greatest concern was that his six-year-old sister, Sydney, would be saved before he passed away. He wanted to know that he would see her in Heaven one day with him. In memory of Nolan, would you please pray that his little sister comes to know Christ at a young age?

No matter the trial or trouble you may face today, Nolan would encourage us in the Lord to rejoice alway.

Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Reflection—Death to the believer is the best medicine; it is not a curse but a cure.
