A Buddhist idol parade in Taipei expanded a missionary’s grasp of the challenge of sharing the Gospel in Taiwan’s capital. The idols, on floats decked in flowers and colorful tissue paper, were pulled by trucks down a main road in Taipei. The missionary’s experience helped her dialogue with a Chinese language teacher who worships an “earth god” idol alongside her ancestors’ ashes.
