Msg#2535 The Davidic Covenant

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan’s Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

God summarizes the Davidic Covenant for us in Psalms 89:1-4 and 20-37. Reading those verses out-loud solidly seals the matter. The Psalmist captures Jehovah’s oath (vrs.1-4), Jehovah glorified (5-18), the Davidic Covenant confirmed (19-29), disobedience’s chastisement (30-32), the forever clause assured (33-37), and the conflicted remnant (38-52). This covenant assures David’s posterity, throne, kingdom, and perpetuity, and it assures a chastisement for disobedience, because sons get chastised (Heb.12:8). Despite the errant teachings of the Roman Church and her Protestant children, the Calvinist, the Covenant Theologian, and their Replacement Theology, every aspect of this Davidic Covenant has been or will be completely fulfilled; And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.(Luk.1:31-33). At the end of this Dispensation of Grace, when the church is raptured off the scene, Jehovah God begins his dealings with the twelve tribes of Israel, to fulfill these promises, and to bring judgment to all the Gentile nations of the world. When His Son comes as King of kings, and Lord of lords, he will set on the throne of David, in the holy hill of Zion, and rule and reign the world for 1,000 years. Every nation will give answer to its treatment of God’s chosen nation Israel, and all nations will be gathered to a battle called in the Hebrew tongue, Armageddon. Mean time,we need to be about the Father’s business, “Others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire (Jude.23). Even so come, Lord Jesus.
