Offerings in Exodus 29

  1. Sin Offering

    • Reference: Exodus 29:10–14

    • A bullock is brought and slain as a sin offering.

    • Its blood is placed on the altar, and the rest of the animal is burned outside the camp.

    • Purpose: To atone for sin and purify the priests.


  1. Burnt Offering

    • Reference: Exodus 29:15–18

    • One ram is offered as a burnt offering, wholly consumed on the altar.

    • Purpose: Total consecration to God, signifying complete devotion.


  1. Peace Offering / Ram of Consecration

    • The right shoulder (or thigh) of the ram of consecration is given as a heave offering (lifted upward, “heaved” to God).

    • Purpose: Acknowledges God’s ownership, with part given to the priests for their portion.
