The pulpit committee of New Hope Baptist Church has announced that Dr. Thomas Marshall has assumed the position of pastor as of Oct. 3, 2010. Marshall, also known as “Doc”, will begin immediately as the senior pastor.
“‘Doc’ is a minister, an assistant professor with Liberty University of Lynchburg, Va., and a family man,” said committee member Barbara Causey.
“He received Christ as his Savior in April 1962, and has been an avid follower of Jesus Christ ever since.”
Marshall has taught students of all ages and has presented seminars at the Association of Christian Schools International at Washington, D.C. on methods of Biblical teaching. Marshall holds degrees from Liberty University, Johns Hopkins University, Liberty Theological Seminary, Andersonville Theological Seminary, the Texas Baptist Institute and Seminary, and other institutions. He is the author of “A Student’s New Testament Survey”, published in 2007 by Tate Publishing and Enterprises.
New Hope Baptist Church meets on Sundays at 9 a.m. for Bible Study and at 10:15 a.m. for worship at Avinger auditorium on the campus of St. Andrews College in Laurinburg.
